Nissan 'Half-Leaf' model to be displayed at Manufacturing & Engineering 2018

The organisers of Manufacturing & Engineering 2018 are pleased to announce that Nissan’s dissected all-electric Leaf car will be a feature display at the free-to-attend event on 4-5 July at the Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle.

The fully-working first generation half-LEAF cross-section, on loan from MAKE it Sunderland, was presented to the city as a symbol of Nissan’s gratitude following its workforce being honoured with Freedom of the city.

It reveals the innovative technology of the world’s first and best-selling 100% zero emissions electric car. The Nissan LEAF has been manufactured at Sunderland since 2013 for European markets, with the new second generation now rolling off the production line. The new Nissan LEAF is Europe’s fastest-selling electric vehicle with sales above 19,000.

Manufacturing & Engineering provides an exciting and dynamic environment for design engineers and manufacturers across the Northern England to see new products and services, obtain high quality business advice, and explore the latest technology in the industry.
