Transitioning the UK automotive sector to become low carbon

The UK produces 1.7m vehicles every year, keeping more than 160,000 people busy both day and night. The diversity ranges from luxury to main-stream cars, buses, motorcycles, diggers, and trucks. With many of the most recognisable brands in the world choosing the UK as a manufacturing base. But the sector is facing seismic global changes, with the challenges of zero emission vehicles. The UK needs to safeguard its current position in this global sector ensuring we are building on our strengths and capabilities to address the fundamental challenges of investment, development and growth of our automotive supply chain.
